We want to update you all on the progress we’re making on Windows Vista x64 support in the new Windows Live installer. We’re working hard to make sure Windows Live programs like Messenger, Mail, Photo Gallery, and Writer can be installed on 64-bit computers running Windows Vista, and we’re in the process of testing this internally.
You can expect to see this functionality available to the public sometime later this fall. In the meantime, thanks for your patience and for your great feedback on all the new beta products!
Windows Live team
Messenger, Mail, Photo Gallery, and Writer can be installed on x64 operating systems? It is the installer that doesn\’t support it, or am I wrong?
I found a page where all the different products were extracted from the installer and one could download them separately. I tried Writer and it worked. Makes me wonder why that stupid installer was introduced at all.
Nice to see, though, that the team is working on it. This \’fall\’. Can you be more precise?
Thanks.

can u help me, when i sign in it syas i have to view family safety, BUT I CANT SEE MY E-MAIL!!!! THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND IT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The sooner the better, whilst we certainly appreciate the teams effort, I\’m sure you\’d agree that all 64bit users shouldn\’t have been made to wait.
Still, it\’s good to know we\’ll be getting our fix sooner rather than later.
When I sign on to my computer if the web access controls doe not load I cannot use the office products, I cannot use the control pannel – everything locks up. It is a pain.
Just a note.We need "Family Safety" too. Those of us using x64 still have kids ….
Pardon my cynicim, but I\’d wager that "sometime later this fall" means shortly before December 22 (the first day of winter in the northern hemisphere).
I\’m curious: you thanked us for our "great feedback on all the new beta products." Should we x64 users continue submitting feedback on our beta versions which are now several months out-of-date? As far as I know, we can\’t really submit any feedback on any of the "new beta products" until we can actually install them.
Currently January 8 2008. Any news for us waiting (im)patiently for this release? x64 user here.
I can\’t get my contacts to go into the Bcc space from my contact list!!!!Any suggestions ,PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
In the FALL?!?!?! How about stop trying to make windows so dang "perfect" and "new", and give your current consumers some dang support! 64-bit is where technology is going. S*** or GET OFF THE POT!!!!
its strange for me because i don\’t really understand why they didn\’t made a msn 2009 x64 version for xp prof. users.

That was 2 years ago … has there been any progress made? I do not want to pay $49 to have permission to email Microsoft. I am trying to download the Live Program Bundle so that I efficiently use the Windows Live Spaces. Please respond to stockholmappeal {{@}} gmail.com. Poor competitive practices.
