Have you seen the completely new Windows Live Hotmail for mobile? You can try it out by going to http://mobile.live.com from your phone’s browser and clicking Hotmail. I’ve been playing around with the beta for the last month, and I’m a believer! Here’s a short list of what you can do on the new Hotmail for mobile:
- Search your e-mail messages Hotmail searches all your folders and returns any message that includes your search term. It’s similar to Hotmail search on a PC. I’ve found this really helpful for finding stuff when I’m short on time (or battery), particularly because it takes longer on a phone to scroll through a long list of e-mail messages.
Search your inbox
- See all the cool stuff in your messages If you have a phone with Windows Mobile 6 or later, an iPhone, or another phone with an advanced web browser, you can see pictures, images, “clickable” links, and other formatting in messages. Now messages look the way they were meant to when you read them on your phone, too.
Your messages look way better
- View long messages in a single page No need to open a new page to “get the rest of this message.” This feature has been extra handy the last week since my neighborhood recently turned into a mini-Peyton Place. Reading all the replies in the most recent messages keeps me get caught up on the latest gossip and grousing. Ah, suburbia
Plus, the new service is faster and more reliable than the previous version.
And here’s some of the new stuff just released on Windows Live Messenger for mobile and Windows Live Home for mobile:
- Messenger for mobile has a new look and feel and now links directly to Windows Live Home, so you can easily navigate between services.
The updated Messenger on mobile
- Windows Live Home for mobile has an improved What’s new list, with ten items appearing in the list instead of five. You can also see the things your friends are doing online at places such as Twitter, WordPress, Flickr, and more. And you can always read the full text of your friends’ personal messages.
For those of you with a Windows Mobile device who like to install programs to use for Windows Live services (instead of using your browser), the full Windows Live for Windows Mobile software (with Hotmail, Contacts, and Messenger) is now available for free download.
Ohhh, the neighborhood is going to have some more juicy gossip today. The local police just rang my doorbell to tell me about some trouble across the street last night!

Alright! I knew you can do it Windows Live Mobile team. We just got one thing left…….and that is getting calendar sync between the Windows Live Calendar and mobile phone. I have enought faith to know that you all can pull this off. Thanks for the updated Mailbox.
very cool! This is cool and all, but what happen to the MSPush technologies?
That\’s cool, I\’ve used it on my PSP cause my cell phone is pretty old for navigating haha
.
Looking good! I haven\’t tried it myself, I hope it looks as good on my BlackBerry Bold as it does on the pictured HTC Diamond/Pro
Hmmm looks a bit different on my ipod touch than it does above for Messenger. Now we just need a messenger app for ipod touch and iphone
Great! Keep up with the improvements Windows Live team. Hopefully Windows Live Calendar sync with mobile phones is next?
Please help me!I got an error code for Messenger and I don\’t know what to do.I looked at the list for error codes and mine wasn\’t listed.I had gotten a MSN virus that logs me in out and sends rude messages to my friends. The error code is 800401f3, and I would really like to do back to being able to use Messenger and talk to my buds.
Still missing the possibility to download or see the attachments in mails.
I got an error code for Messenger and I dont know what to do . I had gotten a MSN virus that logs me in out and sends rude messages to my friends.
Great thing! But users of Windows Mobile can download Windows Live Messenger, Mail an Contacts on their phone, too. But if you dont\’t want to start a lot of applications you can quickly send IM or e-mail in your mobile browser, while you surf on the internet.
i dont suppose there will be a windows live download for iphone…sry but i love my ibaby
@Robochao: Try http://www.msnvirusremoval.com if you have an msn virus and make sure you change your password!
its good at all
Sadly I\’m not feeling the love. I recently upgraded my Mobile 5 phone to a new Mobile 6.5 phone and lost the ability to sync my windows live email with my phone. I emailed my provider and they said I had to pay an extra $20 to sync windows live accounts. So, I\’ve lost the love.
the mobile browser is to keep you online all over people donot be dom and fulish people, i thank that people do not respect there is work to be don stop playing.
is it free?
get it now
WOW really its coool and i like it
LO.. IS VERY TIRED
Ahhh – Mobile! I expect you\’re talking about phones, here? Anyway, we don\’t get enough signal for me to play with this stuff. Living in a village has its drawbacks. If we ever get a decent mobie signal, I\’d love to try some of this stuff out. Someone once wrote a poem to the effect of: One day, perhaps, one day, perhaps…one day perhaps; perhaps. One day!
i likey

I just want to know if MSN is giving users some free gifts like a nice cool mobile phone for using these products am also advising my friends here in Africa to open an account with Windows Live and they love it!!! my phone is a china made (mPAQ – MGG1101) not a standard one

I haven\’t tried it yet. I may do it tomorrow and I\’ll see what happens. Thanks,Diane
Nice job, but it still doesn\’t work with the new Opera browser (On the HTC Diamond, Touch Pro and HD, and the Sony Xperia)… It still redirects to the PC version of mobile.live.com – Any news on a fix for this?
I thought I can send SMS through out my GSM but unfortunatlly they have created a new item GSM I have old NOKIA it cANNOt accepts But it had email sender and require SERVER to whom send.I like my old one why not some one find a soloution to get A an active ssend to server.
unbelieveble man is amazing to git it…
No matter what they do, browser based interface will not be as good as local application is. Thus, Windows Mobile support for hotmail is way better than browser based interface. What they really need to do is open hotmail API or provide IMAP and/or POP3 support for hotmail accounts. This will give access to hotmail boxes on any phone.
@Khamla ArakiwroteAll of the Windows Live for mobile sites (like Hotmail, Messenger and Windows Live Home for mobile) are free. But, depending on your data plan, your wireless service provider might charge you for web browsing on your mobile phone.-DawnWindows Live team
@Robochao XXThat’s a total bummer. From your comment, it sounds like you may have been affected by a worm. There’s a post on Jonathan Kay’s Messenger Geek blog that might be able to help you: How to avoid a phishing worm on Messenger and what to do if you\’ve been affected (http://messengergeek.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!E3785B1281BBDA1!2285.entry).Hope this helps and gets you back to talking with your buds .-DawnWindows Live team
If you are using Opera and want to experience the mobile version as opposed to the pc try http://mail.live.com/m.
Thanks Matthew, but that only works for hotmail. I tend to use the mobile version of Windows Live for the home page, what\’s new feed, showing my photos, Messenger, etc – none of these mobile features work on Opera Mobile on Windows Mobile Phones, they just redirect to the PC version…. I can use IE (which is also included on the HTC devices) but it\’s not nearly as good.Any chance the Windows Live Team could look into this again, we were told back in December that a fix would be coming soon?Basically the Windows Live Mobile site – mobile.live.com – doesn\’t work with the new Opera browser (Included, as default, on nearly all new Windows Mobile phones – such as the HTC Diamond (1 and 2), Touch Pro (1 and 2) and HD, and the Sony Xperia)…
i have it all on mobile and desttop
take it lite on new comeer the must lorn some thing. as a friend you teach them
@Ali MaggsThanks for the details about the issue with Opera Mobile browser on the HTC Diamond and other phones. It appears the browser is sending info that causes our servers to determine it’s a PC browser and redirect it to the PC site. We‘re working to correct the problem ASAP.-DawnWindows Live team
@ Ali Maggs and Windows Live Team: Surely if Ali is on an HTC device they won\’t need to use the browser version of Hotmail as it\’s already installed as part of the Windows Live Mobile suite?
Is there an update that I can download for my i-Mate Jasjam so it\’s compatible for WLM9? I am not in the US, I am in Australia.
